Let's start with this month's bag, "Beauty Schooled", I really liked 4 of the five products......
Absolute- Lip Balm
I received the Green Apple flavor. It comes in a good sized tin pot with lid. The balm itself is pink in the jar but goes on sheer with a really yummy fruity scent. It's nicely moisturizing like a balm should be and it does a good job of keeping lips soft.
GlamGlow- Youthmud Tinglexfoliate Treatment
I've previously tried this and LOVE it, I am so happy this was in my bag!! It's chunky consistency is a bit weird but it was still easy to apply and felt refreshing on skin. Once rinsed, my skin felt amazing! I am obsessed. If you didn't get this, I recommend trading or go to Sephora and get a sample. It's great! Super sensitive skin may want to patch test first though, Ipsy reviews stated some people reacting.
Urban Decay- Perversion Mascara
I've been seeing the ads in my inbox for this new mascara and I am super happy to have gotten a sample! As sooon as I tried it, I was blown away at the length it gives my lashes. I was talking about it with a friend on the phone and she was saying that she discovered lashed she never new she had, lol. No clumps. No flaking. No budging. And length for days. This just gave my fav They're Real Benefit mascara a run for it's money.
Lord & Berry- Silk Kajal Kohl Eye Pencil
I received a full size of this in a previous Sample Society bag once and it's pretty good. The only negative is that it doesn't always stay put. It tends to smear or slide around mid day, just set it with a little black shadow to make it stay put.
Manna Kadar Cosmetics- Sheer Glo
I only tried a few dabs along the tops of my cheek bones for a highlight and it's just ok. Leave a very subtle sheen, don't care for the pink hue.
Overall, two amazing products, two good, and one that was just ok. I'd call that a win!
Next up is a recap of last month's July "Sensationally Sun Kissed" bag.....
PUR Minerals- Big Look Waterproof Mascara
This had the cutest packaging I've seen in a while, the silver wand handle had little beads that look like water droplets, so cute! Not only is the packaging unique, but this mascara is truly water proof, didn't budge in the swimming pool during our week on vacation. It's also easy to apply with no clumping or caking, but also a little hard to remove.
Bare Minerals- 5 in 1 BBCream Eyeshadow
I received the shade barely nude. It works wonderfully as a base or shadow alone. Doesn't budge, crease, or cake. I only wish it were a bigger sample :) Great product, love to try more colors.
Elizabeth Mott- Tints & Sass
Such a cute name and the packaging was cute as well with lace and bows. The formula reminds me of Benetint a bit, but this smells so much yummier and has a doe foot applicator which makes it easy to put on lips. I like the pink stain it gives, just doesn't last all that long.
Hang Ten- Dark Tanning Oil
This takes me back to my Hawaiian Tropic days of pouring on the tanning oil. I do love the coconutty scent and I use it on my legs to moisturize my knees when I put on shorts or dresses.
Lavilin- Jojoba Skin Soother Gel Cream
This was a bust. Literally, the bottom of the tube was busted open and the product was everywhere. This was the second month in a row(June & July) with broken items, but Ipsy quickly rectified each time and sent me out replacements.
Overall, I really liked July's bag as well with two amazing products, two good and one bust. Not to mention July's cosmetic bag was so cute, and the full sized mascara paid for the bag itself! I am so happy with my $10 a month Ipsy subscription and recommend checking it out.
