FAIRYDROPS mascara was created by Japanese anchorwoman, Aya Yasuda, wanting the look of gorgeous, noticeable lashes. She worked hard and came up with this winning combination of a now patented crescent moon wand, and conditioning formula. It's a number one selling mascara in Japan. Lucky for us, Sephora snatched up the exclusive selling rights of FAIRYDROPS Scandal Queen formula in the U.S., and us girls can now join the loyal following. Check out this cute little mini comic of FAIRYDROPS beginning.
PackagingI got my hands on my FAIRYDROPS Scandal Queen mascara from Sephora's Lashstash ( a collection of top selling mascara mini's from Sephora). The one I have is a mini( .17oz), small red tube with the coolest graphics I've ever seen on a mascara. It has little jewels, ribbon, and pearl like drawings on it. Their other products have really neat packaging designs as well. Check it out:
As you can see, the wand has three bulbs in a crescent moon shape. For me, this wand designs really grabs all my lashes. I usually use Maybelline's Great Lash exclusively, before I got this mascara set. Compared to Great Lash's wand, which is straight, I really like the curve of FAIRYDROPS better. It just makes for an easier, smoother application.

My Experience as a Scandal Queen...user
I've been wearing this mascara exclusively for about a month now. From the first application, I was hooked! It went on clump free, with a smooth texture, jet black, and the wand nicely grabbed all my lashes. It lasts all day without having to re-apply. It feels lightweight on, it doesn't weigh down my lashes at all, like some clumpy formulas.
After about two weeks of use I did notice it starting to get a little bit clumpy on the wand. The formula seemed to be getting a little bit cakey around the opening of the tube and it gets transfer on to the wand occasionally when pulling it out. This may be from air getting pushed in the tube with each use as with any mascara, but there was minor noticeable clumping transferred to the wand. I just wiped it off with a tissue before applying to my lashes and it seemed to be fine. Doesn't happen every time, so nothing too horrible.
Overall, I think I found my new favorite mascara. It's going to be expensive to replace when my mini runs out, but I still have bunch to try first in my Lashstash. It's lightweight on, smooth application, cool packaging, and the minor cakey tube I can live with. Happy to have found it :)
Cost and Where to buySo far, FAIRYDROPS is only sold in the U.S. through Sephora. They also sell on their website , but it's in partial Japanese, so do so if you can understand the process.
It costs $24 for a large tube of Scandal Queen. Certainly a bit pricey, but worth it!
