This mama sure wants to be caught kissing her Santa under the mistle toe! This week's Friday Five must haves are perfect for when that special someone corners you for a smooch. I know quite a few ladies hooked on trusty old chap stick. Treat yourself to one of these great alternatives and you may never go back! Each one will fit right into your purse and costs under $10!
1. C.O. Bigelow Mentha-lip balm-
This is my go to daily lip balm. It has replaced chap stick all together for me. It goes on smooth, not sticky. The little kick of menthol feels great on winter worn lips and is a mild back up breath fresheners too. It gives my lips a pretty shine and keeps them nice and moisturized. These are $7.50 and can be found at bathandbodyworks.com
2. Nivea Lip Care-
This lip balm feels just like chap stick going on but the great part is the pretty tint the cherry one leaves on your lips. It's a rosy red color that looks like a pretty red lipstick. There's something that feels so glamorous about red lips.
These are only $2.99 a piece, and they have men's kind as well. Found at drugstore.com or your local drugstore.
3. Meet Mark Pro Gloss Hook up-
Meet Mark gloss hook-ups are so fun because they come in so many great shades. It leaves a pretty hint of color without feeling heavy or sticky. I like the applicator too because it's a brush. The hook ups can connect together with a middle piece, so you can carry two. Get a day color and a night color and have it with you at all times. Found at meetmark.com and cost $6.00.
4. C.O Bigelow Rose Salve
There is a true cult following for this stuff because you can use it to moisturize the skin on your body as well as lips. You can rub it on dry knuckles, elbows, or cheeks. Sounds crazy but this stuff works wonders! It smells pretty and I use it for when mine and my daughter's lips are chapped. The tin can be annoying to get open, as with any small tin but I still like the product. It's about $5.50 and can be found at bathandbodyworks.com and other retail outlets like Urban Outfitters.
5. Burt's Bees lip balm with Mango butter
Last but not least, Burt's Bees lip balm. I love the fruity flavor it has, plus it's made with natural ingredients. I would not recommend the tin packages of any Burt's Bees because I can never get the darn thing open. Maybe you'd have better luck but it's beyond frustrating! It costs only $3.00 and can be found Burt's Bees
Hope you got some fun ideas to replace that plain old chap stick floating around in your purse. There's nothing worse than peeling, cracked lips in the winter. Especially when you want to be caught under that mistle toe! Pucker up!
